Guru Poornima is approaching fast. As mentioned in the previous messages, it will be held on Thursday, July 17th from 3-8pm.
All are welcome to attend and be part of this glorious occasion.

In preparation for Gurupoornima day, we will be starting the cleanup process in the temple on the weekend of June 28th. We will be continuing work on the weekends of July 4th, July 12th and then on July 16th and 17th as well. There will be plenty to do such as washing and dressing the Moorthys, cleaning the temple property, cleaning the temple, cleaning the auditorium, cutting grass, etc.

Regarding decorations for the Gurupoornima Day celebrations, we have been advised that there are plenty of decoration items in the temple storage that can be utilized first before purchasing additional items. Keeping this in mind, along with Aiya’s request that the celebrations be kept simple, it has been agreed that the hall will be decorated mostly with the existing decorations. The Mandapam where Aiya and Amma will be seated will be adorned with fresh flower decorations.

If you are interested in helping out with the clean up process on any of the above mentioned days, or with decorations, please contact Bhavadarani.
We will also need help in the kitchen on and before Gurupoornima day to cut vegetables, make puris, wash dishes, etc. If you’re interested in helping out in the kitchen, please contact Pathmini.

For those who are interested in chanting, please be informed that the puja protocol will be posted on the web, in both English and Tamil. Also, we are planning on scheduling practice sessions for chanting starting next weekend. Please contact Kathy or Devi for further information on these activities.
